Direction to Villa Belveduto: If you are flying your choices of airports are, Rome (Fiumicino or Ciampino), Pisa, Bologna, Florence, Ancona or Perugia. The airports are listed in order of daily number of flights to/from England. From Rome or Pisa the car journey is approximately two hours. If you do fly, you will almost certainly have to hire a car, in this case book and pay for it in England, it is not more expensive. Most European car hire companies are also in Italy. You will receive a voucher which, when presented at the airport, will speed up matters considerably.
How to reach us by road: In most cases you will be driving on the main Italian motorway, l’autostrada del Sole the A1. Remember to collect a ticket before entering the motorway!
Driving from the North take the Val-di-chiana/Bettolle exit. Follow the Perugia superstrada (N 75) until the Castiglione del Lago exit. Take the N71 road through Castiglione del Lago in the Chiusi direction. Soon after Castiglione del Lago, take any of the Sanfatucchio exits, on your right, they will all lead you to the village. Driving from the South take the Chiusi-Chianciano Terme exit. Follow towards Chiusi and then continue on this road towards Castiglione del Lago. Take any of the Sanfatucchio exits, on your left, they will all lead you to the village.
In Sanfatucchio’s main square on the left there is the Bar Trattoria “Grifo” and then on the right a Church. At the Church corner go straight ahead, (i.e. you need to leave this road just on the bend) but take care as this is a blind spot! Follow Via Belveduto, down hill towards the fields, this soon becomes a white road, for about a mile. Villa Belveduto (number 51) is set back from the road and hidden by trees. The entrance on the road, however, is clearly recognisable by the stone walls, wooden gates and tiled porch.
